People search for meaning in a lot of different ways. While major faiths have centuries of tradition behind them, the newer spiritual movements that pop up can feel pretty far out. When traditional beliefs do not cut it, some folks look to the stars, pop culture, or even the internet for deeper answers.

It may be surprising to some people reading this, but people from the past did like to have fun. We keep hearing about wars and revolutions, that we forget about all the parties and social gatherings people had back in the day, and at times, just like we like to do it today.

Hanging Out, 1970

Chugging, 1950
Who needs a glass when the bottle is right there? The art of drinking a lot without stopping from the bottle wasn’t invented by frathouses, you know.
Treehouse, 1921

School Dance, 1960
Talk about shaking your body, huh? Some people are more timid than others, and this couple is certainly not the timid kind.
Beach Time, 1960
Enjoying the beach is an activity as old as time, although this girl won’t be doing much swimming with that hair.
After Swim Drinks, 1976
Now this is a group that knows how to enjoy a good swim. And with the aid of those swimfins, you can get quite far with little effort.
Posing, 1920
Yes, people took silly pictures even back then, with this couple pretending to be in the middle of a drunken discussion.
